Joy to the World

And the angel said unto them,
Fear not: for behold,
I bring you good tidings of
great JOY,
which shall be to all people.
Luke 2:10 (KJV)

Happiness happens because of happenings of events around us or whether things are going well or not.
Joy is not happiness.

Joy remains even in times of suffering.
Joy is an emotion
Joy is a fruit of the spirit.
Joy is a gift.

You cannot fake joy…you either have it or you don’t.

The disciples had this joy:
I Peter 1:8 says that though they had not seen him,
they believed in him and rejoiced with joy.

We receive joy from others:
Philemon 1:7 says that Paul rejoiced in seeing how others gained refreshed spirits because of Philemon.

Joy from the Lord:
From Nehemiah 1:8 we learn that
God's joy is our strength.

Worshipping with Joy
Many scriptures in the Bible
encourages us to "shout for joy."

Remember:
Joy is a permanent possession.
Happiness is fleeting.
Joy stays.
Happiness comes and goes.
Why aren’t we more joyful if we're children of God?
We have a very good reason to be.

JOY to the world.
The Lord is come!

Mercy! How Giving God Glory Embarrassed Me!

Now y'all read all the way down! #1 you'll get a good laugh and #2 there's a #GIVEAWAY at the end! YOUR CHOICE of all my books!

For three and a half years, Ron and I went to early morning prayer. There, to start things off, we shared prayer requests and praise reports. I love praising God and giving Him glory!

The day before, I left my purse with two weeks' pay—in cash—in it on the DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) bus! My six-yr-old had wanted to take all his friends on a bus ride for his birthday, so in my defense, it was a little hectic with all those first graders, keeping up and everything.

I called the bus offices and told them where I'd gotten on and off and where I’d been sitting…midway, left hand side behind the driver. They contacted the man, and within the hour, he circled back around on his route to the same corner...with my purse! And all the $$ still tucked into my bank envelope!

I shared the praise report at church the very next morning. praising God and giving Him all the glory! !

Well, hardly any time passed--a week to ten days at most--until I left my wallet at the lumber store! I didn't realize it didn’t get put back in my purse where it belonged until I was at the mall trying to pay for my next purchases! Mama was with me. I suppose we must have been visiting away and I absentmindedly left it at the checkout counter. Oi Vay! We flew back (only a few miles away), and the cashier smiled real big. She'd saved it for me, figuring I'd be back! I shared THAT at prayer.

This happened like two or three more times until it was absolutely just ridiculous and very embarrassing to share anymore! I do have blonde hair, but don’t enjoy giving credence to the humor rumor that same are ding-a-lings! I had a conversation with Holy Spirit that fifth or sixth morning, but decided however red-faced, to give God glory. I just LOVE His sense of humor!

I must admit as the years passed on, I repeated my ill-intended habit of leaving my purse here or there. My guardian angels really are forced to stay on their toes. Most recently, I left it hanging on the waiting bench outside a restaurant. No, wait. More recently than that, the bank lady chased me to the car with it...uh, that was last week if I'm remembering correctly! I know. I know.

But here’s the deal. My Father watches over me and everything that concerns me. If he cares about me keeping my purse safe, then I know beyond any shadow of a doubt, He will keep my loved ones safe, provide every need in my life, and watch over every detail, every day of my life. I know how much He loves me because He’s always thinking of me.

I’d like to share a new song that He gave me titled "I Will Trust In You". Close your eyes and listen to it (that way you can’t see me J) and memorize it and sing it until you know it’s the Truth—because He is not a respecter of persons and loves you just as much as He loves me.

His love is not earned or deserved by anything we do…whether we’re obedient or willing to be embarrassed or choose to glorify Him. He loves us because of Who He is.

Want to give Him a little glory? Please share the last thing He did for you to prove His love! From those who share, a winner will be randomly chosen and win her (or his) choice of my novels!

Singing Songs All Day Long

It's FUN FRIDAY!

Whenever anyone says, “We’ll have fun.” Immediately through my head goes. “Fun! Fun! Now that Daddy took the T-Bird awa-aa-aay!”
The declaration “I want to” brings to mind “Hold your ha—aa—aa-nd! I want to hold your hand.” Of course, from there, I just have to continue with, “And when you touch me, I feel happy…inside. It’s such a feeling that, my love, I can’t hide! I can’t hide! I can’t Hi—ii—ii—ide!”

I’ll sing the whole song if I’m by myself. My husband usually protests, and since he only has one ear AND I’m so submissive… J…I stop before it’s completion. Almost anything anyone can say will bring a song into my head. Matter of fact, there’s usually a song playing there all the time, and if asked, I can start singing it right in the middle of a stanza.

This led my daughter—when she was six or seven—to inform a little friend with her in the back seat—while I sang passionately to the radio behind the driver’s wheel, “My mama knows all the words to all the songs…even the ones she hasn’t heard.” She cracked me up, but I bit my tongue and didn’t laugh.

Yes. (think 12-Step Program)
Hello, my name’s Caryl, and I’m a singer.

I’ve always loved music and singing. Choir was my favorite high school class. I must have said a thousand times how much I’d love to get paid to sing, but I don’t have an outstanding voice. I used to wonder if I’d taken lessons…but the years flew by and grew me into a wife with three children. One shrugs and goes, “Oh, well.”

At a church we went to, the music director offered voice lessons, and my dear husband signed me up for a birthday present when we could barely buy groceries. I think I had three total, a grand time, and found out I have a five octave range—well not anymore, that was in my thirties. Brother Warren seemed impressed, so I figured it was cool.

My favorite singing is praise and worship. Oh, how I love to enter His gates with thanksgiving then go into His courts with praise. Because the curtain to the Holy of Holies was rent when Yahshuah died on the cross, I can go right into His throne room, bow there, and worship Him in song. There’ve been times at church I thought…if I peeked…I would see Him there—His presence so overwhelmed me.

And He’s been giving me new songs since the ’80s. Mostly praise and worship, but a song for each of my grandsugars—I have sixteen now—and songs to go with the children’s stories written with my husband. And not too long ago, God told me I was His “singing pray-er”. I so loved that. I’ve been singing my prayers for years at prayer group.

SO last November, my husband surprised me saying he wanted to get a nice camera to video me singing my songs. We ordered lights and the whole bit. And now I have a YouTube channel! That’s right! People around the world can hear my new songs! I have SO many more to put up, but there are five now and more coming…so click on over! Have some Friday fun! And if you enjoy the songs, subscribe so you won’t miss any new uploads!

My YouTube Channel! Scripture songs, songs He gave me to go with my books, special song for a very special Facebook group "Heart"wings" - a women's fellowship! (If you're a Christian lady, you need but ask, and I'm happy to add you!), and grandsugars' songs! Be sure to subscribe while you're there so you won't miss any of the new uploads!

And every day, “Sing…sing a song! Sing out loud! Sing out strong! Sing about happy, not sad…sing about good things, not bad!” And be blessed!

Are you a singer, too?
