"Back" to School

Seems the wrong title for June as most schools are letting out for the summer, but when I say back, I don't mean "returning", I mean "reversing" or going back in time. Just over a hundred years. I was recently on a long drive in southern Alberta, Canada when we stopped at a small town to stretch our legs. I've been through Claresholm, Alberta a hundred times, but it's been a while since I took a look at their historical sites. Come along for the tour!

This is an old Canadian Pacific Rail car, the first thing you see when you step out of your own car. 

And this is the old station.

Next door to the station is a small schoolhouse that was built in 1903.

The inside was a treat!

And after school you can go "home" to your one room cabin.

Note the snowshoe hanging by the window and the sled with the pelt attached--more evidence of location. :) 

This last one is for laundry. Looks fun, doesn't it!
