Oh, and remember when Julie Arduini visited us last year with her post on a crash-course in cosmetology? http://stitchesthrutime.blogspot.com/2016/08/my-crash-course-in-cosmetology-with.html
Well, guess what!! Julie's back this year and offering us a giveaway today of her book Engaged! Winner's choice of Ebook or Paperback.
Trish Maxwell’s back in Speculator Falls with egg on her face and a lot
of apologies to make. She left the mountain town for her dream job in
New York City, only to come back unemployed. With no prospects, she
works at her family’s department store and makes amends as she finds a
new passion creating window displays for Adirondack businesses. She
works hard and tries to convince the people of Speculator Falls she’s
changed for the better. As Trish pitches in with community events, she
meets paramedic Wayne Peterson, the one man who doesn’t seem to judge
her. She even makes friends with Jenna Regan, who helps Trish when
people demand to know what’s next in Trish’s life. Living in New York
City has been Trish's goal, but the more she’s around Wayne and the
Adirondack area, the more she’s drawn to revising her plans. Just when
Trish thinks the plan for her life’s coming together, a second chance
comes her way that could give her every career goal she’s ever wanted,
but threaten to tear her and Wayne apart. Can Trish surrender fears
about her future and discover God’s plan for her?

My husband arranged a surprise birthday party when I turned 40. Friends were hiding at home and his duty was to drag me to one place after another until the appropriate time. He was very nervous and didn't even complain when I bought a couple of pairs of shoes in our meanderings. That's when I knew something was up 😆
ReplyDeleteHaha, how funny! It seems the surprise is always given away by something.
DeleteA favorite birthday surprise was when my parents were waiting for me at my home on my special day. I have other birthday surprises but anytime with family is special.
ReplyDeleteEngaged sounds like an engaging book to read. Thank you for the giveaway. Happy birthday once again to STT.
Aww, how sweet. It's always special when family shows up. Especially when it's a surprise.
DeleteMy daughter threw the best 50th birthday party for me a few years ago. Juke box, poodle skirts, hoola hoop contest...the works! We all had such fun and that's what birthdays are all about. So here's to many more for STITCHES and the rest of us! Thank you for the giveaway opportunity.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Sounds like it must have been a blast. I love historical themed parties.
DeleteThis past birthday was one of the best for me. I lazed in the pool all day!! Happy birthday to you all!!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing what a day of relaxing can do. A good way to feel younger instead of older!
DeleteMy favorite birthday memory was when I turned 16. It was a total surprise and we all went to McDonald's to celebrate and back to the house for cake, ice cream, and gifts.
ReplyDeleteHere's to many more birthdays to come.

Oh, yes. McDonald's birthdays are memorable. I had one of those too. :)
DeleteMy husband and two special friends surprised me with a 50th Birthday party at our church. He took me, our daughter and her boy friend to eat and then, on the way home, he mentioned that he needed to check something at church. It was a lovely surprise!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's awesome! I love church family. They always make things special.
