Delight Yourself in the Lord...in October

Psalm 37:4 says, "Delight Yourself in the Lord."

So I said to myself:
Which is one of my very favorite-ish months?

October, of course!

Here's what I love about October
and how it makes me happy
and wanting to praise God this month:

Walking thru the crackling leaves.
I love the sound

pumpkins, and gourds and acorns galore
White and orange, brown and green
I love the beauty

cool crisp air and misty mornings
I love the feel

The outdoors and warmth
Roasting hot dogs and marshmallows
I love the taste.

May we all take time to appreciate this day. This month.
Autumn blessings!

  2. Hi Carole. Thanks for an inspirational devotion on a very rainy Monday morning. I also enjoy Autumn and it was in October 46 years ago that I was blessed with my one and only child. But, as Marilyn mentioned, each day contains a blessing and it is up to us to discover it and enjoy it!
    Blessings!!

    1. Autumn is special, isn't it, Connie? How precious that your child was born during this season.

  3. Beautiful pictures. I love fall too. One of my favorite things about the season is the mystery of its beauty. The leaves are dying, the trees going into hibernation, and yet it is SO beautiful. It reminds me that there can be beauty in death. There was beauty in Christ's death. And there is beauty in dying out to ourselves so that Christ-now resurrected like Springtime- can live through us.

    Thanks for sharing, Carole!

  4. It is hard to enjoy fall when we have 2 seasons here, Summer and Spring. We are having a cool spell this week for a few days and then it's back to the high 80's. Thanks for entering me in your giveaway.
