IDEAS GALORE! with Guest Lillian Duncan #Giveaway

CONGRATULATIONS, Stitches Thru Time on your three-year anniversary! To celebrate, they asked me to write something fun for my visit so… People always seem to be fascinated by how I come up with my story ideas so I thought I’d share some of my secrets on how that happens.

Exactly how do I get my ideas? The truth is there is no one way that happens. It’s different every time. Sometimes, I come up with a premise, such as what would happen if a big city lawyer fell in love with a farmer? (Pursued)

Sometimes a scene just pops in my head from nowhere. Like when a woman receives a phone call from a young girl asking for her aunt and she knows it can’t be for her because she doesn’t have a niece. Or does she? (Deception)

Sometimes a story comes about because of characters from another story. Both Betrayed and Redemption happened because I wanted to know what happened after Deception.

My Deadly Communications series happened when my writing life crashed into my other life as a speech pathologist. The series features a speech pathologist who gets way too involved with her clients!

One of my books even came from a dream! That was Birthright—my only horror novel. At least up to now. As soon as I woke up, I ran to my computer and wrote down the scene I’d dreamt. Later, I went up and added a little more and then a lot more.

So, like I said my story ideas can come from anywhere at any time. My latest book, GAME ON is no exception. I got it from watching a TV talk show of all things. And no, I’m not going to tell you which one. Of course, all I got from the show was a germ of an idea then it was up to me to figure out the who, what, when, how and why of the story.

Don’t forget to check out my book trailer at https://youtu.be/t6MK2UGB1P0. What’s a book trailer? No a book trailer is not a mobile home with lots of books in it! Haha—that’s supposed to be a joke. Anyway…A book trailer is a mini-commercial about a specific book. Now doesn’t that sound fun?

GAME ON releases on September 2, but you can preorder it right now by clicking on the AMAZON LINK. To celebrate the release of GAME ON, I’m giving away a virtual basket of goodies at www.lillian-duncan.com that includes Amazon gift cards. For all the details go to my blog, Tiaras & Tennis Shoes then leave a comment on the any of the GAME ON blog posts and you’ll be entered.

BLURB for GAME ON
