Book Review: Tide and Tempest by Elizabeth LudwigBlogger: Amber Schamel
I have to be honest. I decided to read this book the moment I saw its cover. Isn't it gorgeous? You can almost smell the salty sea and feel the breeze in your hair.. The book behind the cover did not disappoint me.
This is the first book that I've read by Elizabeth Ludwig, but it won't be the last. Tide and Tempest is book 3 in the Edge of Freedom series, but that didn't make it difficult to understand, and I didn't feel like I was missing links because I hadn't read the other books in the series.
Tide and Tempest is a very sweet story with masterful storytelling and suspense. Each of the characters will win you over and have you cheering for them all the way. I loved Tillie, and her personality was easy to relate to. She made a great 'damsel in distress' type of heroine, without being cliche. Morgan was a great character as well. One of my favorites to date, actually. This book is going on my To Be Read Again pile.
The mystery and suspense kept me guessing until the end.
There were a couple of "fast forward" parts, (what my family calls the kissing scenes) but other than that it was a great story.I highly recommend it for anyone who loves a good, clean historical with a suspense element.
