Today—June 20th—is Ice Cream Soda Day. If there’s a perfect summer beverage (other than homemade lemonade) this is it! On Sunday afternoons when the family all gathers at our house for lunch after church, this is one of the treats we all enjoy. Purple cows (made with grape soda and vanilla ice cream) is the current favorite, followed by the Yoda soda (lime sherbet with Sprite or any lemon lime soda). Adding a bit of whipped cream and sprinkles on top makes the drink more festive. And don’t forget colorful straws.
Do you have a favorite ice cream soda combo?
My favorite is vanilla ice cream and Vernors, which is a Michigan "thing." But I also love vanilla ice cream and root beer. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds good. Is Vernors a ginger ale?
DeleteSounds delicious. I like Pepsi with ice cream in the summer for a refreshing ice cream soda drink.
ReplyDeleteDoes Root beer float count? Mmmmm
ReplyDeleteI've always enjoyed orange pop and vanilla ice cream but lately I've used diet Sprite and it's good also.
