Twilight Christmas

Reading this story is like eating warm Christmas cookies. Sweet, sweet, sweet, and makes you feel good inside. Normandie Fischer sets the story in a familiar town, with characters that readers of her Carolina Coast novels already love. In my opinion, these novels are like the Mitford stories – wonderful characters that keep coming back in new, fun stories. BUT! Each novel can also stand alone, so you can begin with any one of her books.

Twilight Christmas is Fischer’s latest, and since it’s a novella, it’s an easy read for Christmastime. Two newly orphaned children are afraid of being separated, so they hide in order to stay together. The little brother takes care of his big sister, who has Down syndrome, but things get difficult for them, hiding out in the barn behind a church.

Add to the orphans a mysterious vandal, a struggling single mom, and a community of people trying to plan a Christmas pageant. The resulting hope-filled story will touch your heart and make you believe that Christmas really is a time for miracles.

If you're looking for something to read while you curl up by the fire this season, Twilight Christmas is a great choice.
