I think about these people and kind of feel sorry for them. Think about it...
While they are worried, fretting and stressing, The God of the universe was doing something miraculous in the barn out back.
While they were wrapped up in their own thing, worried about their four and no more, Jesus, The Savior, was making his great entrance into the world.
How heartbreaking it must have been to know that you'd missed out on such a wonderful event, and in your own backyard, no less!
Today, I fear we do the same.
All the traveling, all the traditions and decorating. Trying to make sure our own is cared for and have a "memorable" Christmas. While God is doing something amazing in our backyard.
Don't get so wrapped up in wrapping...So distracted by decor...So festive for your four, that you miss God making an appearance in your life.
They can have the nice soft bed, the 5 star Inn and the warm hearth. Give me the cold stable, the smell of fresh hay in the air. I want to be where LOVE is being birthed into a hopeless world.
In addition to writing historical novellas and poetry, Jamin is also a song writer and sings at her local church. She has been a volunteer as a Sunday school teacher and the VBS decorating coordinator for the past three years. With her Irish/Native American roots firmly planted in SE Ohio, Jamin enjoys the simple life on her small farm with her husband. Where she homeschools their three small children. Her writing styles range from inspirational to romance. Seeking plots and ideas for her novellas that stray outside the ordinary. Yet, drawing inspiration from every day life.
I loved reading your thoughts and I pray that none of us miss God making an appearance in out lives!

Appreciate this thoughtful post. Yes, I keep things simple daily and especially at Christmas as I do not want to miss God and His daily blessings in my life. Jesus first, others second, and yourself last gives you Joy as the little Sunday School goes.
