There's still more time to get your comments/entries in for this great giveaway of the Courageous Brides collection!
Speaking of books and collections, I was hoping ya'll would join in the conversation with me today and we could swap bookish craft and decorating ideas. I'm currently working on decorating a girl's reading room, and I'm open to ideas!
What would your dream "Reading Room" look like? Would it be Jane Austen style? Beauty and the Beast? Sherlock Holmes?
What type of bookshelves would you have?
Leave me a comment below telling me of your dream reading room and get your name in the drawing for something from my prize vault!

My dream reading room would be painted in blues and whites and have many large windows for natural lighting. I would have floor to ceiling bookshelves with a ladder on a track going around the room to reach all my my delightful books. I would have cushioned window seats and several love seats and comfy pillows and a blanket for chilly weather reading. I would have an easily accessible chair height table to hold my tea and books. I would also have a door leading to a bathroom in the library. A mini fridge and stove would be in there as well. Why leave the home library if I don't need to?
ReplyDeleteThat sounds lovely, Deanne! I love the window seats. And a rolling ladder is also in my dream library. ;)
DeleteCeiling to floor book shelves would be amazing. Throw in some comfy couches and you would never see me again.
ReplyDeleteI'd be right there with you, Mary.
DeleteMy dream reading room would have lots of windows, floor to ceiling bookshelves. Colors would be shades of blue and peach with comfy chairs and cushions, along with little tables to hold pens, coffee mug, water glass and note pads. Did I mention a rolling ladder is a necessity for those tall bookshelves.
ReplyDeletePeach and blue...sounds almost Jane Austen style. :)
DeleteMy dream reading room would be a room with wall to wall bookshelves, an overhead glass
ReplyDeletefiltered skylight. Comfy couches, a mini frig, a coffee machine, old fashioned end tables,
microwave with a small bathroom behind a bookcase. Plants, plants and more more scattered throughout the room.
Our reading room will have lots of plants too. We've decided on a Secret Garden theme.
DeleteAmazing how many similarities there are. Wall to ceiling bookshelves, natural light and comfy couches.
ReplyDeleteA room full of books with just enough room to squeeze in and see what I want to read next. Of course they would all be on bookshelves and have a latter to get to the top one's. cheetahthecat1986@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI actually have a very good place to read. My recliner faces two Windows that offer me a view of the countryside and I can view God's Creation in His various seasons. There is also a fireplace with gas logs near my recliner that warms me when I need it. Nothing fancy in my reading room but I feel blessed to have it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for another great post.

My dream reading room would actually be a small house with floor to ceiling bookshelves in every room. A comfortable chair or recliner in each room and a window with a beautiful view of the landscape and wildlife. If the hubby has to occupy the house with me, then there would have to be doors with locks to keep him out when I am reading. lol.

Aha! Forget a reading room, I want a reading house. Now this girl's thinking big! Love it!
DeleteI would like a room with lots of windows and surrounded by filled bookshelves with a comfy rocker recliner in front of a fireplace.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, fireplace is a MUST.
