Interview with Jodie Wolfe and #giveaway!

Hello friends! I hope you are enjoying the STT Birthday Bash! We've got a TON of fun stuff going on, so be sure not to miss a single post!

Today we have a very special feature. One of our very own authors are visiting with us today! Jodie Wolfe is a contributor to the Threads of Love collection and she's here to chat about her story.

Jodie Wolfe got bitten by the writing bug as a young girl after reading and watching Little House on the Prairie. She loves writing stories about feisty heroines and strong, godly heroes. The power of story to influence lives and change hearts is what motivates her to weave tales that tell of the Savior’s faithfulness and forgiveness. Her books provide history, hope, laughter and happily-ever-after. When not writing she enjoys spending time with her husband in Pennsylvania, reading, walking and being a Grammie. Welcome Jodie! We're so glad you could visit us today.

Thanks, Amber, it’s great to be here as a guest.

Yes! Such fun, isn't it? Why don't you start by telling us...what made you decide to become a writer?
Writing has been a part of my life since I was a little girl. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t want to be a writer. I remember as a child telling family members that I wanted to be a writer when I grew up.

Where did the inspiration for your latest book come from?
I’ve always been fascinated with twins so I definitely wanted to have a set in my novella. I wondered what would happen if they decided to never marry. What would it take for one of them to change their mind?

Ohh, that sounds like a fascinating plot. Your website tagline is History, Hope, Laughter & Happily-ever-after. Can you tell us about this?
The older I’ve gotten, I’ve found that I really enjoy history, which hasn’t always been the case. :) It’s the kind of books I enjoy writing and reading. Within each novel I write, I include the hope we have in Christ, and I always try to add humor as well because I think we all need some laughter in our lives. Finally, a happily-ever-after because who doesn’t love a romance with a sigh-worthy ending?

How does your faith and spirituality work in with your writing?
My faith is an integral part of my life and who I am so it’s interwoven in every novel that I write. I don’t think I’m capable of not sharing about the hope we have in Christ.

What are you working on next?
I’m currently working on the sequel, Love in the Seams which will be out in November.

Goody! Anything else you'd like to share with us?

About Hearts Tightly Knit:

Orphaned at age ten, Ellie Stafford and her twin sister Mae made a vow—to stick together and never marry. Now in their mid-twenties, they are bucking convention in Calder Springs, Texas, as women with respectable occupations who can take care of themselves. Ellie works at the Good Fixin's Diner and spends her evenings knitting garments for The Children's Aid Society. When a handsome local rancher shows up looking for a cook, she's hardly tempted, despite his good looks.

Luke Rogers owns a spread just outside of Calder Springs. It was running as smooth as cattle going through a chute until his cook up and marries and high-tails it back east. With no cook and a bunkhouse full of ranch hands ready to revolt, he persuades Ellie to temporarily fill in until he can hire someone else. He should have known better than to get tangled up with another woman.

  1. This book sounds really good. You know, it wasn't until I was older before I became interested in history. In school, history was so boring...I guess I got a bad batch of teachers, because they never made it interesting. Thanks to some great blogs, including this one, I have been loving all of the history facts.

    1. LOL. I never liked history until I became an adult. In school it seemed like all we did was memorize dates, which wasn't a strong suit for me. :)

  6. I just found your blog! I wonder what it does take for 1 twin to move on? My twin sister-in-laws (I count the twin too, as they were always together, even as married couples) still talk daily and meet weekly!

  10. I am an avid reader of historical fiction and this sounds one to definitely put on my "to read" list. Like the location, too! The book focuses on a very sad and frequently tragic aspect of life then - that there were really very few opportunities for women. Enjoyed the interview and appreciate the chance to participate. Thanks!
