My husband and I LOVE snow. We always are praying for snow, come winter. Up until this past Friday, it's been a pretty disappointing season. When we heard about the potential snowstorm approaching, we started praying and enlisted a couple friends to pray too.
Guess what? God answered our prayers. We have well over two feet of snow and it's still snowing. :)
You can see (from the photo) the drifting on our deck. The grill is completely covered and the glider is barely visible. Definitely our kind of winter storm.
I'm reminded how God knows our heart's desire.I love this verse from Psalm 139:1 (NIV)
You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me.
While God always answers our prayers, it isn't always to our liking or our timing. I'm thankful He said 'yes' when it came to my prayers for snow this past weekend. :)
How about you? What are you praying for? What's your heart's desire?
Whether it's a conversation with a friend, a word that is penned, or a craft that is made, everything we do leaves a stitch in the fabric of time. Join us as we investigate the stitches of the past and present...
"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: ... a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak" (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 7).
I would love snow here in Redding California, but that's a stretch...it would definitely be a God thing. We've had snow before...for a day.
ReplyDeleteI do have an answered prayer to share. I've been without a car for a couple years now, relying on others to take me places. My daughter called me yesterday to tell me that she is getting a new car and that I could have her Ford Focus. It's a nice little car and I am so excited about it. I just had to wait on God's timing.
Have a great week.
What a great reminder of answered prayer. Thank you for sharing and how wonderful that God provided a car for you. :)
DeleteI am happy that you have snow to enjoy. At my home in KY, we had between 11-12 inches and driving was restricted for over a day.
ReplyDeleteI had as prayer answered but it took many years. My daughter waited to marry and after her wedding, my thoughts turned to grandchildren. After a few years, I decided that this was not to be and I became resolved to never being a grandmother. After almost 11 years of marriage, my then 42 year old daughter gave birth to a beautiful little girl who was perfectly healthy. She turns two next month and I have been given "joy unspeakable"! God had a timeline and He also has a great memory and He never forgot those long ago prayers!

Aww. How sweet to have a granddaughter. :) Thank you for sharing, Connie.
DeleteI'm sure my son would be happy if I were praying for snow, but I'm happy without it. haha. Right now my most fervent prayers are for the healing of my husband's mind and body. Thank you.
