I'm sitting in for Joy Avery Melville while she's away at the ACFW Conference in St. Louis, MO this week. I had the delightful pleasure of reading Mary Connealy's new book.
Kylie Wilde likes being feminine, wearing dresses, sporting long hair,
and enjoying the finer things in life, much to the chagrin of her older
sisters. They've fought in the Civil War posing as men and now have
claimed land with their soldier exemptions posing as men too. Except
Kylie is tired of wearing britches.
Land agent, Aaron Masterson, checks to make sure that claim owners are
obeying the requirements of the law. He refuses to look the other way
when he learns of Kylie's deception. He's tempted to turn her in but
feels the need to protect her when someone is trying to force her off
her land.
Mary Connealy has a knack of bringing together a strong hero and heroine
with plenty of struggles and laughter in between their clashes. I look
forward to reading the story of each of the Wilde sisters.
This book was provided for review by Bethany House Publishers, 2014.

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: ... a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak" (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 7).
Kylie and Aaron sound like a pair that I need to check into. Thanks, Mary!
