What's on the Agenda?

Happy New Year!!! Can you believe it's already 2014? Are you ready to face this new year? Are you planning to tackle something exciting?

One thing I'm hoping to tackle---thanks to some very special Christmas presents---is making my first quilt. I've already taken my first steps.

Step 1: Learn how to use a sewing machine. --- Check! Yes, after more than twenty years on this earth, I finally know how to use one of them thingamadotchies. :)

Step 2: Start planning and cutting and sewing. --- Yeah, I'm sure there are multiple steps bound up in one here, but hey, I'm a newbie. :)

I have never been much of a resolution-making person, but I'm looking forward to what God has in store for this year both writing, quilting, and other-wise. :)

So what new adventures are you hoping to tackle in 2014? Is there a new craft you're wanting to try your hand at?

  1. Hi Crystal,

Happy New Year. Love the quilts you've started. I did a baby quilt once. I'm going to work on fine tuning our finances and my writing and my health. Craft-wise, I'll probably stick with crochet.

Hope everyone at Stitches has a happy, safe, healthy 2014.

    1. Thanks, Elaine. I'm glad I have people around me I can ask if I get stumped. :)

Those sound like some great goals you've made. Hope you have great success. Happy New Year! :)

  2. Congratulations on starting your first quilt, Crystal! That's awesome. I know you'll do great. Looks like you're off to a great start. Be careful, though. It's addictive. :) Don't forget to share with us when you're finished. One of the new things I'd like to try is beading on a quilt. Never tried it before, but it looks like fun. When you decide to learn more, Craftsy.com has some great quilting classes. Have fun and welcome to the quilting community.

    1. Thanks, Cindy. :) I believe I will have to be careful; I almost have two more squares complete.

Beading sounds interesting, although I have no idea what that is. :) Oh, and thanks for link too.

      Happy New Year!
