Today on Stitches Thru Time, I am Susan Mires and we have the chance to sit down with Norma Gail, an author and one of our bloggers.

First of all, Norma, give us the basics about your new book.
My debut novel Land of My Dreams is a contemporary Christian romance set in Scotland.
I love to read romance. What it this novel about?
When thirty-year-old Bonny, an American college professor, moves to Scotland ,
falling in love is not in her plans. When she meets forty-year-old Kieran
MacDonnell, who has suffered staggering loss, they must both learn to set pain
and loss aside to find lasting love and renewed faith in God.
The setting sounds very romantic. I understand you visited Scotland. What did you see on your visit?
From the moment we stepped off the plane in Edinburgh , I belonged. I
fell in love with the green fields full of white sheep and the dry-stack stone
walls. When we were leaving Beauly, I insisted my husband stop the car and take
a picture of a wonderful old house, tucked around a corner in the road. That house became a part of the setting.
Since romance needs conflict and tragedy, I wove faith in God, loss, and poor
choices together to show the mistakes people often make when it comes to how
their faith affects their decisions.
I've always wanted to visit Scotland and your description makes me want to go even more. Please tell us a little bit
about another trip you've taken - the writing journey.
I attended my first writer’s conference in 2011, and learned
my book needed a lot of revision if I ever wanted to be published. Following my
second writer’s conference it was picked up by a small, traditional,
royalty-paying Christian publisher, Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas .
Congratulations on publishing your debut novel. Is there anything
else you’d like to share about your book?
Thank you for sharing this great interview! I can't wait to read Bonny and Kieran's love story! Wishing you much success with your debut novel!

DeleteCongratulations Norma,
ReplyDeleteI so want to go to Scotland. What a way to do some research. Living in Germany for four years, and Turkey for one, I was able to see several places, but I've wanted to visit Scotland.
I'm jealous...
Your story sounds interesting and I hope it is successful

I do use some in a time travel and I have a book called Cross of the Sultan I've been working on. Guess where that takes place?
