A New Day Dawning

I did something this morning I can’t take credit for. I woke up. Each new day is a gift from God, our Creator and Sustainer of life. 

The day is ours to do with as we wish. 

Do we consider God’s plans amongst our own? More so, is anything about Him included in our day?

“Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23 NIV 

God chose to give me this new day. Regardless of whatever might weigh me down today, I choose to give Him praise for that. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow will have its own worries.

Today, a clean slate waits for me to write upon. 

Today, I will allow Him to guide my steps.

What about you?

Father God, we praise you for this beautiful morning. You, who are able to do more than we can imagine—we thank you. You’re in the midst of our problems today, working for our good, even if we can’t see it. Forgive us in the areas where we fall short. Direct our steps for Your glory. Thank you for the mercies you extend to us daily through your Son Jesus. It’s in His name we kneel before you and give you glory and praise. Amen.
