Visiting with German Baptist Author Sharon Lavy Today!

Prolific author Sharon Lavy is visiting today. She's not only a terrific fiction author (see link below to check out ALL her books), but also is now venturing into coloring books, and has one children's book published too.

What fun to re-discover coloring books! I still find myself coloring with the children from our church or our youngest grandson at times. But when Sharon shared that she was putting together a series of coloring books, my interest was piqued. This time around I was intrigued by books specifically structured for adults.

Here are a copy samples of pages I recently colored (in my spare time, of course! Lol):

I asked Sharon if she would share a few answers to the questions I sent her. Read on to find out more about her writing life!

1.  Why coloring books? What piqued your interest in publishing them?
I have worked with digital graphics for years. I did marketing for our sod business for years and learned the programs. For me working with graphics is therapeutic. So why Adult Coloring Books? It is a way of giving to others because the art of coloring is also therapeutic and restores tranquility to our lives. The act of creating can draw us closer to our Creator God.

2.  Tell us a little about how you got started writing: your writing journey. Oh, my. Well, I have always been a writer. As an introvert, I can be overwhelmed by being around people. I figure I have nothing to say. So I learned to write out my thoughts. It is my way of learning and coping with the world around me.

3.  What else have you published, and what can we expect to see in your future writing efforts?
I also write novels and have one children's book out. A nostalgic look back at when my children were young and worked in the barn with their daddy and the pigs.

  2. I have always known how relaxing it is to color and I'm thrilled that it is now the "in" thing for adults. I recently visited a church member at the nursing home and her 80+ years old roommate had coloring books and coloring pencils. Her puctures were beautiful and she was happy and oroud to show them to me!
Carole, thank you for sharing about Sharon and her books.
