Today I am going to show you how to turn a plain bulletin board into a colorful board that coordinates with your space.

| Piece of pretty fabric, iron, and stitch witchery that I bought at Walmart |
- bulletin board
- fabric
- spray adhesive
- glue gun
- scissors
- newspaper
- iron
- stitch witchery
Take the fabric, double it over, then iron a seam into the fabric. Place stitch witchery (fusible bonding) between the pieces of fabric close to this new "seam." I did a shorter piece for each side first, followed by a longer piece on the top and bottom to "wrap" the board. A total of four pieces were cut, iron, and fused.

Spray one of the short sides with a spray adhesive, press the seam side against the frame with your finger tips ~ creating a straight line between frame & seamed fabric.
Once that side is pressed down firmly, do the other short side. Note you have only glued the front of the fabric to the frame.
Tip the bulletin board upside down and use a glue gun to adhere the leftover fabric to the back of the board.
You will now have the shorter sides fully glued.

Next, spray one of the long sides and press that seam against the frame in a straight line. Once that side is pressed down firmly, do the other long side.
Tip the bulletin board upside down and use a glue gun to adhere the leftover fabric to the back of the board. Fold the long corners over like a present ~ cut away unneeded fabric.

ReplyDeleteCindy, you are welcome! The fabric I used was VERY thin, a calico I believe? So far it has stood the test of time, but it has only been a few weeks :-) As a fabric addict, you probably know the thicker the better with a craft like this ~ but I could not help myself with this cute little fabric . . . it was perfect for what I needed to coordinate!
