The Mistress of Tall Acre by Laura Frantz

General Seamus Ogilvy wishes to leave behind the horrors of the American Revolution and learn how to father his mother-less daughter. The only trouble is his daughter is afraid of him and he doesn't know the first thing about how to parent her.

While Sophie Menzies waits for her brother to return home from war, she becomes acquainted with the charming little girl who lives next door. What she hadn't counted on was developing an interest in the widower father.

The Mistress of Tall Acre was my first experience with reading a book by Laura Frantz. I'll be sure to check out more of her books in the future. I rate it as a 4.5 out of 5 for happily-ever-afters. For more of my book reviews check out my website at Jodie's website.
